The report highlights the company’s key achievements and initiatives in its ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy
August 2026 – New Wave released its first Sustainability Report, covering 2025. This publication marks a milestone in the company’s history by presenting, in a structured and transparent manner, its key achievements, results, and commitments across environment, social responsibility, and governance matters.
Prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the international standard for sustainability reporting, the document presents indicators and initiatives related to the pillars of innovation, governance, people, health and safety, environmental management, and social impact.
One of the highlights is the completion of the first Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory, a study that identified opportunities to reduce emissions associated with the company’s activities.
Under the innovation pillar, the report highlights the technological solutions developed by the company and the progress of construction at Wave Aluminium in Barcarena (PA), where the world’s first semi-industrial plant dedicated to bauxite residue refining is being built, with operations scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
New Wave’s commitment to its people is also highlighted in the report through initiatives focused on professional development, continuous learning, fostering a strong organizational culture, health and safety, and employee well-being. These actions reflect one of the company’s core values: “People First”.
According to Bruno Santos Ferraz, New Wave’s Director of ESG and People, the publication of the company’s first Sustainability Report demonstrates its growing maturity in addressing environmental, social, and governance issues, while also increasing transparency around its results and commitments.
“Even without a regulatory requirement to publish this information, sharing our practices, results, and commitments is a way to strengthen our relationships with investors, partners, employees, and other stakeholders, as well as to highlight the technological and innovative potential that drives our business,” says Bruno.
