New Wave participates in a debate on innovation and the energy transition at the Energy Summit

June 2026 – New Wave CEO Gustavo Emina attended the Energy Summit, one of the world’s leading events dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship, and the future of energy. Held in Rio de Janeiro in partnership with MIT, the event brought together experts, leaders, and companies to discuss solutions for the energy transition, with a focus on topics such as decarbonization, digitalization, and diversification of the energy mix.

During the panel discussion on critical minerals and the energy transition, Gustavo shared New Wave’s perspective on the role of innovation in creating value for the minerals sector. The executive highlighted Brazil’s geological potential and the need to accelerate the development of technological solutions capable of expanding the use of mineral resources, boosting the country’s competitiveness, and contributing to the energy transition through more sustainable solutions.

On that occasion, he also presented initiatives developed by New Wave, such as the construction of the world’s first plant dedicated to processing bauxite waste, in Barcarena (PA), and the development of a lithium refining plant in Duque de Caxias (RJ), one of the first facilities in Brazil designed for large-scale refining.
